KEYBINO
Quantara Solutions Ltd
Cookie Policy
Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) • UK GDPR
Effective Date: 1 April 2026
This Cookie Policy applies to all Users of https://keybino.com, operated by Quantara Solutions Ltd, trading as Keybino (“Company”). It forms part of the Terms and Conditions and must be read alongside the Privacy Policy.
When the User first visits the Website, a Cookie Consent Banner is displayed. Non-essential cookies are placed only upon the User’s prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent. The Company does not set non-essential cookies on the basis of assumed or implied consent.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on the User’s device by a web server when they visit a website. Cookies may be:
- Session Cookies — temporary, expiring when the browser is closed; or
- Persistent Cookies — remaining on the device for a defined period or until manually deleted.
The Website uses both first-party cookies (set by the Company) and third-party cookies (set by external service providers).
2. Categories of Cookies and Legal Basis
| Category | Purpose | Consent? | Retention / Legal Basis |
| Strictly Necessary | Required for core Website functions: user authentication, session management, security (e.g. CSRF protection), and navigation. Cannot be disabled without impairing Website operation. | No | Session / Persistent up to 12 months. PECR Reg. 6(1)(b) exemption; legitimate interests (UK GDPR) |
| Functional / Preference | Enable the Website to remember User preferences such as language, region, and interface settings. | Yes | Persistent up to 12 months. Consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Analytics / Performance | Collect anonymised data on page visits, session duration, and user flows to improve Website performance. Data is aggregated and not linked to identified individuals. | Yes | Persistent up to 24 months (e.g. Google Analytics default). Consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) |
| Marketing / Targeting | Track User behaviour to enable personalised advertising and measure campaign effectiveness. Typically deployed by third-party advertising networks. | Yes | Persistent up to 12 months. Consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) |
3. Third-Party Cookies
The following categories of third-party service providers may set cookies on the Website:
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) — for anonymised usage measurement;
- Payment providers — for fraud prevention and session continuity during checkout;
- Advertising networks — where marketing cookies are enabled by the User.
Third-party cookies are governed by the privacy policies of the respective providers. The Company is not responsible for those policies and encourages Users to review them independently.
The Company does not use marketing cookies to track Users across unrelated third-party websites without a clear disclosure and the User’s specific consent to that purpose.
4. Validity of Consent
Cookie consent collected by the Company is:
- Freely given — the User can access the Website without accepting non-essential cookies;
- Specific — consent is obtained by category, not as a blanket acceptance;
- Informed — the Cookie Consent Banner clearly describes the purpose of each category;
- Unambiguous — consent is obtained through an affirmative action (clicking “Accept” or ticking a box); pre-ticked boxes are not used.
5. Managing Cookie Preferences
- Cookie Consent Banner: accept, decline, or customise preferences by category upon first visit and via the Cookie Settings link at any time;
- Browser settings: most browsers allow blocking or deletion of cookies — consult the browser’s help documentation;
- Third-party opt-out tools: providers such as Google Analytics offer dedicated opt-out mechanisms (e.g. browser add-on);
- Withdrawing consent: Users may withdraw cookie consent at any time without detriment. Withdrawal does not affect lawfulness of processing already undertaken.
Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Website from functioning correctly.
6. Do Not Track
“Do Not Track” is a browser signal indicating a preference not to be tracked. The Website does not currently alter its behaviour in response to Do Not Track signals, as there is no legally enforceable standard governing them in the UK. The Company’s cookie consent mechanism provides Users with equivalent granular control over non-essential tracking.
7. Policy Updates
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in cookies deployed, regulatory requirements, or Website features. Material changes will be communicated via the Cookie Consent Banner. The current version is always available on the Website.
